Dangerous trucks stopped without identification: 47 violations found!

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, officials from the Lower Austria state transport department stopped a Croatian truck that had massive security deficiencies during a focus control at the St. Pölten Raststation in the St. Pölten district. According to the state police directorate, the vehicle transported several tons of dangerous goods in classes 3 (inflammable liquid substances) and 8 (caustic substances) without any labeling or necessary safety precautions. It was particularly alarming that the van was not declared as a dangerous goods transport and the driver did not have a corresponding ADR control ID card, as the police reported on a press release.

The control of the truck, controlled by a Bosnian citizen, also revealed serious violations regarding steering and rest times as well as speed. In addition, the technical controls showed significant defects. In total, 47 violations were found, which were immediately reported to the district administrative authority. The continuing of the vehicle was immediately prohibited, and a preliminary security deposit in a five -digit amount was inserted to ensure security. This dramatic situation is not only a national, but also an international problem in the field of dangerous goods transport, as reports.

This inspection was able to avert serious risks to traffic safety, which underlines the importance of such regular checks. Such a negligent handling of dangerous fabrics could have catastrophic consequences, which the authorities alerted all the more.
