Escalation in Langenau: Anti -Semitic smearings shock the city!
in Langenau (Alb-Donau-Kreis) occurred last weekend anti-Semitic incidents. Unknowns sprayed the slogans "Boycott Israel" and "Jews" in red color to the walls of the town hall and the Martinskirche. These cruel smearings were quickly painted over, but the shocking effect remains on the local community. The police have increased their presence in the city and the investigation, including the search for possible video recordings, is in full swing. The state protection has taken up the investigation, since the acts are clearly considered to be incredible, as SWR

In the same night, several waste paper containers were set on fire, which caused the police to check a possible connection between the arson and the anti -Semitic smearings. Pastor Ralf Sedlak, who was previously hostile to the Hamas attack on Israel because of his positioning against the Hamas attack, was heard as a witness and expressed himself deeply concerned about the processes in his community. He emphasized: "These are enemy images. No solutions. People should simply understand that," while the local population spoke up with a clear "With us there is no place for racism", like Tagesschau reported.
The incidents looked like a wake -up call for the city, which in its official statement condemned the incident and announced that a crisis staff was set up for processing. Mayor Daria Henning described the acts as a "new escalation stage". Despite these terrifying events, the Protestant community plans to carry out their advent events as usual and not be intimidated. The affected citizens demand togetherness against the anti -Semitic tendencies, while the investigators are still looking for the perpetrators.
