Fire in the economy building: animals saved, stable in flames!

Reisiswil, Schweiz - in Reisiswil, Switzerland, broke out a devastating fire on a farm on Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2025. Shortly after 4 p.m., the Bern cantonal police received several alarm reports. On site, the emergency services discovered an economy building that was in full fire. Thanks to the quick intervention of the fire brigades Grünenberg, Langenthal, Madiswil and Huttwil region, the flames could be prevented from a neighboring house. However, the stable building, in which hay was also stored, burned down completely.

The extinguishing work was difficult because the large amount of hay and the acute risk of collapse presented the fire brigade team with special challenges. After all, there were no injured people to complain about, and the rescue workers can look back on the happy rescue of all ten animals - including two calves, four cows, two cattle and two pigs. Alternatively, these were housed on a neighboring farm, as the Bern cantonal police reported in a message. After completing the extinguishing work, a fire guard was set up to monitor possible dangers.

The police immediately started investigations into the cause of the fire and the amount of the property damage incurred. It remains unclear how this serious incident could occur.
