Bank robbery in Meidling: Robber escapes with 8,000 euros!
On Wednesday morning, December 11th, there was a spectacular bank robbery in Vienna-Meidling that triggered massive police operations. Around 11 a.m., unknowns entered the bank branch in Meidlinger Hauptstraße, threatened the employees with a supposed firearm and escaped with a prey of 8,000 euros. The Viennese police alarm investigator was initiated immediately after the incident, but so far there is no trace of the perpetrator, as the Krone reported.
In the course of the attack, the bank was temporarily in an alarmed state. There was an indication at the entrance door that the branch was closed because of the robbery. According to a spokeswoman for the BAWAG group that operates the affected bank, the police are fully supported in the investigation. The incident occurred on the corner to Pohlgasse and immediately attracted a large contingent of police forces.
