In a meeting of the main committee, Mayor Thomas Haß (independent) expressed alarming forecasts: "After first sighting of the numbers, we come to a high -deficient work." There were several non-public meetings of the main and finance committee, in which the structures and the future development of the city of Schwentinental were critically questioned. The chairman of the main committee, Norbert Scholtis (CDU), confirmed that the city's financial situation was the focus, but did not want to reveal any further details about the content of the meetings. As the city administration reports, the budget 2025 will not be sent to the municipal self -administration committees before January 2025, so that decisive information about the financial challenges of the city only becomes clear after the design has been completed.
