Parliamentary work in Austria was influenced by the coalition negotiations after the National Council election. Although no new government has yet been formed, meetings of the National Council, the Federal Council and the committees were still held.
In a current hour in the Federal Council, the new finance minister Gunter Mayr stepped in front of the country chamber for the first time. Mayr was praised on November 20 as the successor to Magnus Brunner. During this session, the recent decisions of the National Council on a new sanctions law and measures against money laundering were also discussed.
The three icclets in the country chamber, which resulted due to the state election in Vorarlberg, were also particularly noteworthy. These events testify to the political activity and importance of parliament and the committees in Austria. Parliamentary work continues, even if government formation is still pending. It remains to be seen how the political landscape will develop.
