Naturalization boom in the district of Stade: 1000 applications and more!
In the district of Stade, a remarkable trend is emerging: more and more foreigners are striving for German citizenship. This is mainly due to the extensive relief that the government has introduced for the naturalization process in recent months. For the first time, over 1,000 applications in the region will be submitted for 2023. This sudden increase in the number of applications presents the district administration of new challenges, which are noticeable by lack of staff. In order to be grown up to the rush, additional staff is apparently needed.
But what exactly are the requirements for naturalization? In order to maintain German citizenship, applicants must meet several criteria. This includes that their identity and nationality are clearly clarified. In addition, the length of stay plays a crucial role because they have to prove the lawful stay in Germany. A declaration of loyalty, in which applicants have to confess to the freedom-democratic basic order, is also necessary. Further requirements are a secure livelihood, the lack of criminal records and a language certificate at the B1 level and the proof of passed naturalization test. In addition, a residence permit recognized by the authorities, for example as a refugee, is required.
The importance of the duties of cooperation
A special challenge for the applicants is the so -called cooperation obligations. These state that applicants have to actively contribute to processing their applications. According to Daniel Beneke, the press spokesman for the Stade district, it often happens that applications are rejected due to a lack of participation. If applicants are repeatedly asked to submit missing documents and do not do so, they violate their legal obligations. In such cases, it is possible to voluntarily withdraw the application, which is free of charge for those affected and avoids a formal rejection. Despite the high number of applications, only a few are officially rejected, since most responsible applicants track their concerns accordingly.
The duration of the naturalization procedure
In the past, the processing time of a naturalization procedure was about three to four months. In view of the places involved, such as the police or the protection of the constitution, this process can now take considerably longer. The applicants themselves are also important: Without their active participation, the processing is delayed. It currently takes up to six months to conclude a procedure at the Stade district after receipt of the application. However, the phase in which the application for the desk of a clerk is problematic. Due to the high number of applications and personnel lack, it is not possible to process them promptly. This requires well -trained staff, with new employees need an induction time of at least six months.
