The ÖVP, which is known to be the strongest party at the local level, has lost the mayoral offices in numerous traditionally black communities. The Social Democrats have currently taken control in most district capitals. This takes place in parallel to a historical high flight of the mayors: for the first time, 14 women are in office with 14 women, which increases the woman's note to 11.8 percent.
