The challengers of the SPÖ
The SPÖ has had difficulties in the past in Lower Austria, but some mayors have been able to assert themselves in their offices to this day. Despite the painful setback in Wiener Neustadt and the general pressure as a "eternal second" since 1945, the SPÖ has to assert itself not only against the ÖVP, but above all against the freedom. According to krone.at , the outcome of the elections could be decisive for whether the SPÖ is correctly back on the political course or has to have feathers again. The crucial question remains: Can the red defend their strongholds and maybe even win new voters?
With the upcoming elections, the political landscape in Lower Austria is put to the test. Many communities that were previously ruled by a single party will now experience a variety of voices and perspectives. The political actors are determined to give everything to convince their voters and to secure a place in local politics.
