In a dramatic turning point for the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) in Styria, her boss Anton Lang surprisingly announced his resignation after the catastrophic state election on November 24th with only 21.36 percent of the vote. This result not only marks the worst result in the history of the SPÖ in Styria, but also led to the fact that the party only took third place for the first time.
