In a groundbreaking initiative, the Viennese lines ask the population to exchange their own car for public transport: 500 euros per month wave for everyone who leaves their own car! From May 2023, 40 selected households should only be traveling with publications, e-scooters or car sharing services for three months. As Oe24.at is scientifically accompanied by the University of Natural Research in order to demonstrate the cost efficiency and environmental friendliness of public transport. Interested parties aged 21 and over, who have a B driver's license and have a car in the household, can apply until February 16.

why is this bet important?

Managing Director Alexandra Reinagl explains that in Vienna there are more annual tickets in circulation in Vienna than cars - a significant sign of the change in the mobility behavior of the city dwellers. The Viennese lines take this opportunity to draw attention to the advantages of public transport. This step could contribute to the further reduction of car traffic and to improve air quality.
