Vienna relies on young talents: apprenticeships for technical professions in trend!

The Viennese municipal utilities have big plans! As part of their initiative to promote specialists, they offer a total of 150 apprenticeships for young people this year. This increases the number of training in order to meet the need for qualified staff in times of a shortage of skilled workers. The Wiener Stadtwerke offer 20 different apprenticeships, including electrical engineering, mechatronics and newly introduced areas such as district heating technology. "We train in an exciting and diverse training and enable graduates to do their Matura during apprenticeship," said Erich Buza, head of apprenticeship management.

In the coming autumn, 235 apprentices will start at the Vienna Stadtwerke and the takeover rate is constant 80 percent.
