Drivers without a license plate in Vienna: Investigations after alcohol ride

A 49-year-old driver outwitted the police in Lower Austria and Vienna on Sunday in an extremely sophisticated way. The incident began on the West Autobahn (A1) near Pressbaum, where the Hungarian citizen was stopped with a vehicle without a license plate.

The officials carried out alcohol control that was positive. The man was then prohibited from the man and the vehicle key was removed. However, the driver did not seem to stick to the instructions, because a short time later he was stopped by car in Vienna. There he refused an alkotest and caused further a stir.

Details on vehicle control

The vehicle already caught the attention of the police on the highway because a side mirror was torn down. During the inspection, the officials found that the license plates were missing, as they were removed from the Melk motorway inspection the day before. It also turned out that there was no liability insurance for the vehicle. Another critical point: The driver's license of the 49-year-old could not be removed because he had already been withdrawn in Hungary.

Despite the ban, the man continued his trip to Vienna-Meidling, presumably by using a second key for the car. In this case, the authority does not give up, since the new preservation of several violations will follow that will be forwarded to the responsible administrative authorities.

Such an incident raises questions about driving safety and the legal regulations. After all, some drivers seem to believe that they could escape the police, which is often not so easy in the real world. Details of this incident were announced in a current press release from the State Police Directorate in Lower Austria, as reported .
