Floridsdorf blooms on: New mini forest and traffic calming in Mariahilf
In Liesing, a significant progress for cyclists has arisen: The newly built bike path in Wohnparkstrasse is now completely ready for use. This 450 -meter -long bike path, which is accessible to both directions and was structurally separated from road traffic, enables cyclists, conveniently cycling from the Liesingbach cycle path to Erlaa loop. This expansion is part of a comprehensive initiative to improve the bicycle infrastructure in the region.
The completion of the bike path goes hand in hand with an additional upgrade of the area. A total of 44 new trees were planted and around 1,000 square meters of new green space were created. These measures not only contribute to the increase in quality of life in Liesing, but also promote environmentally friendly means of transport.
Wiener Wäldchen in Floridsdorf
The initiative for more city green aims to make Vienna more resistant to the challenges of climate change and to create a more pleasant atmosphere for the residents. "Wiener Wäldchen" should contribute to a more lively city in the long term.
Mariahilfer Straße: driving ban on Saturdays
Line 13a is also limited on these Saturdays: it does not run between the Stations Neubaugasse and Burgasse from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. These measures should optimize the shopping experience for pedestrians and increase the attractiveness of shopping in the city. Vienna is increasingly accommodating the needs of its citizens and at the same time promotes sustainable transportation.
