In Vienna Favorites there is exciting news: A new bicycle and wheelchair park is being built on the Wienerberg, near the sports field "In the Gruam". This project, which is realized as part of the child and youth million, has already installed the trains. Further measures are planned until spring of next year, including the installation of new benches and a drinking fountain. This offer should not only serve for leisure activities, but also create a place where everyone, whether on foot, feels on two wheels or in a wheelchair.

It was ceremoniously illuminated on Thursday evening, while the visitors were pleasantly lingering in Punsch and Maroni. The jewelry of the tree, designed by the artist Maja Ettinger-Cecic, consists of 60 blue birds, which are symbol of peace in Central Europe. District head Markus Rumelhart says this art installation also indicates the fragility of peace.

In the Josefstadt, four new stones of the memory of different places have also been set up. They are located on the addresses of Josefstädter Straße 21, 43-45 and in Lederergasse 22. These stone tablets are supposed to remind you of the Holocaust victims and have been laid at the former residents of deported Viennese Jews since 2005. These memory stones are an important sign to keep memory of the tragic events of history.

All of these developments help to raise awareness of social issues and to promote a respectful culture of memory.
