Susa Siebel: Floridsdorf's radiant heroine of the clowning and art
Susa Siebel from Floridsdorf has made a name for herself as an artist and clown, who, with her commitment to people of all ages, spreads joy and hope. She works regularly in hospitals and manages to put a smile on the face of the patient. With her versatile workshops, she not only helps children with escape experience to forget everyday life, but also promotes self -confidence and creativity of adolescents and adults.
The 33-year-old social scientist and trained circus teacher is particularly proud to give playful access to the world through her circus productions and workshops. This approach was also recognized by "Meinverkirk" and "W24", which Siebel appointed heroine from Floridsdorf. Her colleague Hubert Wieser had nominated for this award.
The circus as a space of development
For Siebel, circus is more than just entertainment. "The circus is a place to try out, play, dream and expand limits," she explains. This philosophy is reflected in its workshops, in which the participants have the opportunity to discover their inner joy and naivety. Siebel is convinced that in particular, clowning has the potential to move and touch people.
You often meet her in the role of the clown "Lilo", which brings swing and mood into the rooms with her ukulele. Her meetings as part of the “Red Nasen Clowndoctors” project are particularly impressive where she works for patients in Floridsdorf, the Danube City and Ottakring. This not only learns the clown, but also your audience moments of reinforcement.
events and workshops
in April Siebel premiered with the "Circus Collective Kaudawelsch" with the piece "Group. Male and somehow". In addition, she works on circus projects in public space and offers workshops in schools as well as for various groups and private individuals. Especially with children who have fled, she designs a summer circus that is not only fun, but also helps to process trauma.
Originally Susa Siebel from Speyer comes in Germany, but has lived in Vienna since 2015, where she is rooted in the community. During her studies, she found that understanding can be based solely on intellectual knowledge. So she started studying theater and dance and finally finding access to the clowning: "The health clowning feels holistically for me," says Siebel. In 2019 she performed solo as a clown for the first time and became an active member of the red noses of Clowndoctors in 2022. This year she also completed her certification via the internal training program.
In addition, she is currently in the process of developing her first full -length solo program under the name "Petibato", which is planned for the coming year. The program "Wiener Heldinnen", in which it is presented, runs on "W24" every Sunday at 7 p.m.
