Rail replacement traffic from November 21: Changes on the U1 in Vienna
The city of Vienna is preparing for an important change in public transport. From November 21, a rail replacement traffic will be set up on the U1 line. This step follows an incident that has affected the regular management. The measure aims to offer the affected passengers the best possible support and to ensure smooth transportation.
In order to cushion the effects of rail replacement traffic, several adjustments to the existing lines are made. For example, line D is extended to Reumannplatz. This extension is intended to help create additional connections and thus relieve the passengers. For passengers who are looking for an alternative, lines 1 and o are available as options. These bus or tram lines offer bypasses to avoid longer waiting times or detours.
special features in night traffic
The night traffic of the U2Z line is also adapted for the nightly road users. The connection will no longer end as usual at the opera (Karlsplatz), but instead continue to the Reumannplatz. This change ensures that there is also a comfortable and continuous connection in the late hours, which is particularly important for night owls.
The measures were taken specifically to enable passengers to continue the as uncomplicated and convenient journey as possible. The Viennese lines recommend all passengers to find out more about the current developments.
