Mining: Children discover their school district in an exciting way
The new edition of Meinschul district starts and inspires the third graders in Vienna. This special newspaper, which was created especially for the city's school districts, has now been published in its second edition. The offer is aimed at all third graders and aims to show you in a child -friendly way what makes your district, what important personalities live or have lived there and which leisure opportunities are available.
With 24 exciting pages, Meinschulverzirk offers children the opportunity to get to know their place of residence better. The initiative will be launched by Meinzärzirk and represents an important learning material for material lessons. This advertising -free newspaper can discover students and at the same time expand their knowledge.
New learning material for the students
Nikki Gretz-Blanckenstein, the editor-in-chief of Meinzärb, explains the importance of this project: "In third grade, children learn everything about Vienna and the individual districts. While the school books offer a lot of information about the city, there is often a lack of district-specific content." Meinschul district closes this gap and provides the teachers useful information about the 23 Vienna districts.
The content of the newspaper includes the history of the districts, the various districts and present prominent personalities that come from these quarters. Particular attention is also paid to the tasks of a district leader and how children can actively contribute to the help of their district.
In addition to the printed content, there is an online version with exciting puzzles and interactive elements that make learning even more entertaining. Everything is designed to enable the children to participate, while they learn more about their surroundings.
Another highlight is the report on the district museums, which was particularly well received by the students, according to Gretz-Blanckenstein. Many classes use the newspaper to plan excursions to the museums, which not only know the children, but also offers practical experience.
positive feedback from the school community
The project has received numerous positive feedback in the past school year. Teachers sent thanks and congratulations emails and report on the enthusiasm that the students showed when developing the material. Gretz-Blanckenstein notes that there is nothing better than developing an idea that inspires the target group. These feedback confirms the initiators to continue to adhere to the project and to constantly improve it.
This type of children's media formation is of great importance for both the pupils and their teachers, since it strengthens local identity and promotes understanding of its own environment.
