The Advent season in Vienna begins next weekend, a time when the city is populated by visitors near and far. The bus line 13a is shortened on the Advent Saturday between 9 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. in order to further reduce traffic. In addition to the roadblocks, visitors from the federal states who arrive by bus have to expect further restrictions. The entrance to the inner districts such as Mariahilf, Neubau, Josefstadt and Alsergrund will be closed to bus trips between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Only line buses and vehicles with a valid entry -card have access to these zones.

For the use of these entry -cards there is a maximum upper limit of 350 cards per day . Owners of these cards can also be parked on special free parking spaces. Buses that do not have a valid entry card are only allowed to drive to Schwedenplatz. Coming from the south, they reach the Praterstern, while buses from the north to the belt, near the Westbahnhof, or to Karlsplatz and Vorgartenstrasse are diverted. This gives the passengers the opportunity to get into the city center by using the subway lines.
