Ten more are added to the existing 30 trees on Maria-Trapp-Platz, accompanied by impressive 1,300 square meters of new green space and a water feature. These measures are now starting and should be completed by the end of June of this year. The extensive removal underlines the trend of making the Seestadt more environmentally friendly. Since 2022, 44 XL trees have been planted there and over 2,500 square meters of previously sealed areas have been greened. The latest plans show that Maria-Trapp-Platz is not only equipped with new trees and perennial beds, but also a 35-square-meter water feature is also installed, which ensures refreshment with fogching. These redesign ensures that space can continue to be used for various events such as the popular Kirtag. Josef Taucher, chairman of the SPÖ-Donaustadt, speaks of a positive urban design that creates green oases in the middle of urban structures. These exciting developments are part of a comprehensive strategy that is aimed at climate and relaxation, which is evident from the plans for Maria-Trapp-Platz, as is also emphasized spoeestadt.at
The new green areas are also equipped with the latest automatic irrigation so that the new new additions can thrive optimally. Six additional benches, shade -giving pergolas and other improvements should increase comfort and quality of stay for all residents. These measures are not only a step towards a greener future, but also a truly innovative approach to improving urban space.
