Ottakringer Straße 200, 1160 Wien, Österreich - The Police in Vienna is looking for several hundred new employees every year, for the growing requirements and challenges in a variety of society master. The recent “Recruitingday” of the Vienna State Police Directorate had the opportunity to find out more about career opportunities among the police. In addition, they were able to speak directly with uniformed police officers, try on a police uniform and experience a day in the police school with the help of VR glasses. This is intended to introduce potential applicants closer to the police profession and, above all, illustrate the opportunities of diversity.

Women and people with a migration background should be particularly addressed.
The prerequisites for starting the police include Austrian citizenship, flawless reputation and passing an entrance exam. During the training, the prospective police officers receive a salary, which financially supports the entry. Major General Karlheinz Dudek emphasized equal opportunities for everyone interested and confirmed the endeavor of the police to become a representative institution.
The Future Fit Festival
The "Recruitingday" is part of the Fiture Festivals Vienna takes place. This festival offers Viennese aged 14 to 65 the opportunity to get to know and try out future professions. The festival center, the Future Fit Experience, is located in the museum district and is open until June 30th. Here interested parties can find out about various opportunities for professional development.
The next dates for the information event "Vienna needs you!" The Project "Correct" examines how the police deal with diversity and shows how the social changes also affect the police. In view of the growing diversity, in which more than a quarter of the population has a migration background, it is crucial to actively integrate these developments into police work. The knowledge gained from this helps to further develop the police as an institution and to meet the challenges of the future.
