Cart's cable car in Dornbirn: Modernization and operating changes from 2025

The cart cable car in Dornbirn will be in operation this autumn. Instead of being closed as usual for maintenance work, it will drive continuously by December 31, 2024. It will only stand still for three months from January 1, 2025.

The decision to postpone the autumn revision means that extensive modernization work will be carried out from January to the end of March 2025 at the valley station of the cable car. Among other things, the cable car control is exchanged to ensure smooth operation.

The operating times of the cart cable car and the panoramic restaurant remain unchanged by the end of the year. The train is in operation from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sundays until 9:00 p.m.

A curious incident occurred on the last New Year's Eve when the cable car failed due to an unexpected problem. About 200 guests were stuck after a mouse cut a cable, which led to the decommissioning of the electronic control.

The uninterrupted operating time of the cart cable car this autumn brings with it some changes for both visitors and the operators. It is important to find out about these innovations in advance and to consider any restrictions.
