The new chapel in the State Hospital Feldkirch was ceremoniously inaugurated in the span of spirituality and medical care. This ceremony took place in an interreligious setting, in which diocesan bishop Benno Elbs took part. Elbs emphasized the importance of this place: "For everyone ... Spirituality is also part of it." The architectural design of the chapel comes from the renowned office Martes.Marte, under the direction of Lisa Marie Hafner. She created a room that is characterized by a calming and earthy atmosphere and acts as a contrast to the typical hospital architecture. "The design elements were deliberately reduced in order to emphasize the peculiarity of the chapel," said Hafner. The central prayer picture, a representation of the Virgin Mary, comes from the icon writer Rudi Jankovic, who lives in Feldkirch, so kathpress.at .
dr. Gerald Fleisch, the managing director of the hospital company company, emphasized in his speech that the chapel was intended as a protected space for all citizens, regardless of its religious background. This new chapel should not only be a place of silence, but also a walk -in work of art that respects and combines the spirituality of all people. In order to promote this diversity, monthly prayer times are held under the direction of different religious communities that focus on the common.
