The pre -Christmas period in the State Hospital Feldkirch is just around the corner, and a festive highlight is Richard Scherrer's crib exhibition, which has inspired visitors since its first presentation in 2011. This year, the artistically designed cribs will be admired in the entrance area of ​​the LKH Feldkirch from November 29th. The ceremonial opening begins at 7:00 p.m. and promises to become a special event.

At the opening, city councilor MMag. Benedikt König and Pastor Mag. Jürgen Mathis will be present. Silia Raeber-Köck and Felicitas Berger, who will contribute to the festive mood, take over the musical accompaniment. The exhibition will be accessible to interested visitors until December 24th:

Detailed unique items from natural materials

Every crib that Richard Scherrer presents is a unique work of art that is manufactured with a lot of dedication and creativity. Scherrer, who works in the LKH as a health and nursing staff in urology, passionately enthusiastically about the creative process of crib production: "It is exciting how every crib develops. I am not tied to specifications and can let my imagination run wild

Scherrer only uses natural materials for its cribs. During his walks and hikes, he collects old wooden shingles, rootstocks, larch bark, dried twig, small plants and moss, which he then artistically processes. These materials not only give his work a special charm, but also symbolize the close connection to nature.

The crippling crib is not only a creative expression for Scherrer, but also a welcome balance to his work. Since he was twelve years old, he is devoting himself to this tradition. On average, he invests in every crib for about 25 hours, which is reflected in the quality and aesthetics of his works.

The lovingly designed cribs create a contemplative atmosphere in the LKH Feldkirch and bring joy into the time of advent, both for patients: inside and for employees: inside and visitors: inside. Through the exhibition, the artistic tradition of building cribs experiences a new appreciation, while the visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Christmas mood.

The crib exhibition 2024 is open from November 29 to December 24 in the main entrance of the LKH Feldkirch. A visual and emotional journey through a contemplative time awaits guests.
