Man hoard 250 train tickets - police solve series of burglary in schools!
St. Pölten, Österreich - A man who is responsible for a number of spectacular burglaries in Austria has now been arrested, such as the vol.at reported. Between March 2022 and January 2024, the 41-year-old tied a real burglary war and stole specifically in schools, but also in buildings of the Chamber of Labor and the Union Confederation. The total damage amounts to over 933,000 euros. During a search in Vienna, the police not only found numerous train tickets that documented his trips, but also a large number of burglary tools. The perpetrator is now in custody in St. Pölten.
Vorarlberg not spared
Among the numerous crime scenes is also Vorarlberg, where the man struck twice. In the district of Dornbirn and in the Feldkirch district, he committed burglaries, with over 141 burglaries taking place alone in schools. The theft of cash and electrical appliances worth more than 253,000 euros was particularly blatant. 680,000 euros in property damage was caused by the deeds, which makes the perpetrator one of the currently most wanted criminals in Austria.
Austria's euro coins under the magnifying glass
While the judiciary takes care of the burglar, a rather cultural topic causes a stir: the new euro coins in Austria. According to muenzen.eu , the future motives show important personalities and historical buildings in the country. A two-euro coin will represent Bertha from Suttner, the peace activist, while the 1 euro is decorated with the portrait of the brilliant composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. These new coins are not only important from a culinary point of view, but also reflect on the cultural heritage and the values of Austria.
