650 caught mice in Vorarlberg: Success for the nature conservation campaign!

In the run -up to Christmas, a remarkable initiative in Vorarlberg causes a stir. As part of its campaign "Show me your mouse, cat", the Inatura called the cat owners called to hand over captured small mammals to create a red list for these animals living in the region. From June to the end of November, the participants were able to hand over over 650 frozen mice - a number that significantly exceeds the original expectations of 250. According to the biologist Anette Herburger, every animal is examined in a special laboratory in Upper Austria to collect important data on the spread of the 29 smaller types in Vorarlberg, including pointed mice and voles. The results of this comprehensive investigation are to be expected by the end of January 2025, as vorarlberg.orf.at

70 years Herburger Reisen

In the meantime, the travel agency Herburger Reisen celebrated an impressive 70th anniversary and invited over 2000 guests to the Mohrenbräu-Halle in Dornbirn. The event, which came up with a solemn opening ceremony, musical interludes and the presentation of the travel program for 2024, was plentiful with numerous prominent guests. Among other things, Governor Markus Wallner and other well -known personalities in the region were present. Managing Director Klaus Herburger thanked an emotional speech for the loyalty of the customers who have accompanied the development of the company since his beginnings. The evening was characterized by nostalgic response into the history of Herburger Reisen, which were impressively presented in a three-part video, as Weekend.at

These two events- the data and environmental initiative as well as the anniversary celebration- show the diversity of engagement in Vorarlberg, both in the environmental and the tourism sector. While one action aims at the protection of nature, the other celebrates the success of a traditional company that has contributed to regional development.
