Vorarlberg clubs train at home: no flights to the south!

Schoppernau, Österreich - This year the football teams from Vorarlberg will be spared the training camp in Turkey, as the Krone . Instead of the usual trip to the warm Antalya, the professionals had to stay in their homeland. Because of the financial situation and the good training opportunities in their own campus, FC Altach and Austria Lustenau decided to save the travel expenses. For the players, however, this means frosty temperatures, most recently up to -8 degrees Celsius, while they train in snow -free places. But with the appropriate equipment, this is not an obstacle for the athletes.

Replacement of the training strategy

FC Altach originally planned a trip to Turkey, but both responsible - sports director Roland Kirchler and coach Fabio Ingolitsch - rejected this plan. Instead, training is intensively and effectively trained in the Ländle on the upcoming challenges without having to do without the team -forming character of a training camp. Austria Lustenau chose a pragmatic solution and started a short training camp in Schoppernau in the Bregenzerwald, which could be implemented inexpensively thanks to sponsors. According to vorarlberg.orf.at , the topic of a trip abroad was not even addressed, since the focus is on the intensive preparation for the upcoming ÖFB-Cup.

in Bregenz, a short -term change of scenery for the team was simply considered impractical. In view of the short time and the need to prepare for the competition that soon started, an additional training camp would rather have become too stress than relaxation. Instead, the teams train in the domestic cold, determined to successfully master the upcoming sporting challenges.
