In the night of Wednesday, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Stocker district of Vorarlberg in Doren. A 58-year-old driver who probably suffered from second sleep lost control of his vehicle around 1:20 a.m. in a left turn and crashed head-on against a tree. The incident was quickly reported by the vehicle's ecall system, which led to a quick intervention by the emergency services, as Vol.at reported.
The fire brigade Doren, reinforced by 15 emergency services and two vehicles, quickly reached the scene of the accident. The driver was trapped in the vehicle, but was responsive. The firefighters used a bereau to open the driver's door and make the injured accessible to the emergency services. After the first medical care, the man was brought to the LKH Bregenz, whereby no information about the type or severity of his injuries was published. Fortunately, an alkotest showed that the driver was not alcoholic. The police now continue to investigate the exact course of the accident, as vorarlberg.orf added.
