Insights into the town hall: City elementary school visits Mayor Ritsch

An exciting excursion brought the students of the third classes of the city elementary school to the town hall of Bregenz. Under the supervision of their teachers, the children had the opportunity to take a look at the processes of the city administration.

Mayor Michael Ritsch warmly welcomed the students of classes 3a and 3b and led them through some of the most impressive areas of the town hall. One of the highlights of the visit was the historic city council, where the children took a photo together with the head of the city. These moments not only offered a first insight into the work of urban politics, but also a great opportunity for the children to ask their questions and to learn more about the functions of the mayor.

A look behind the scenes

After visiting the city council, the students were also allowed to visit the mayor's office. These visits are not only instructive, but also promote the understanding of the children for the structures and processes within their city. It is important that youth develops a feeling for the political processes in their environment and meets the city representatives who make decisions for their future.

The classes were accompanied by the committed teachers Claudia Sigg, Barbara Schmidhofer, Magnus Lässer, Madlene Karl and Barbara Flatz, who had organized the visit. The town hall offers such interactive experiences as part of its education initiatives to bring local politics closer to the students.

The city elementary school, known for its diverse activities and projects, is making a sign of integrating pupils into the municipal conditions with this visit. It is sought that children develop interest in their surroundings at an early stage and recognize that they are part of a larger community in which their voice counts.

The students obviously enjoyed learning more about their city, and it remains to be seen which new ideas and suggestions they will take from this informative excursion. Such visits not only raise awareness of urban politics, but also contribute to the development of a strong citizens' identity.
