Violence in old age: important information in Bludenzer Lecture

On Tuesday, November 19, an important lecture on an often neglected topic will take place in the Bludenz town hall: violence against older people. The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., is the last part of the "Health in Conversation" series this autumn. Organizers are Angelika Wehinger and Mario Enzinger from the IFS Verarlberg Verarlberg, which will be discussed, named and combated in their lecture on how family violence against older people can be named.

Physical and mental violence in the family affects people from all social classes and is independent of their educational background or financial status. Older people in particular are often affected by domestic violence in a sensitive environment, be it in their own family or in care facilities. In such situations, it is crucial to understand the various forms of violence and to recognize warning signs early.

Invitation to awareness

"Violence against older people is a topic that concerns all of us," emphasizes Vice Mayor and Social City Councilor Andrea Mallitsch. With this event, awareness of the problem is intended to sharpen and show ways in order to be able to help those affected. The lecture is not only informative, but also a call to the solidarity and support of older people who could be trapped in difficult life situations.

The lecture is free for the lecture, but a pre -registration is requested. Interested parties can register on 05552 63621-243 or by email to health@bludenz.at. In cooperation with "nursing in conversation", the participants are taught valuable knowledge of dealing with violence in old age. Legal aspects of violence protection are also explained, as well as strategies to support those affected.

The lecture series aims not only to raise awareness of the problem, but also to promote direct action and to facilitate support for offers of help. It is of essential importance that the community deals with this topic in order to improve the quality of life of older people and enable them to live safe.
