A piece of history: grinder box as a loan for Bludenzer Museum

The Bludenz Singing round recently presented an important historical artifact in a solemn ceremony. Particular attention was paid to the 160 -year -old grinder box, which was once owned by Giuseppe Collini, the great -grandfather of a choir member. This rarity, also known as moleta, was lovingly introduced by Anton Collini.

The historic grinder box was once brought from the Val Rendena in Trentino to Vorarlberg as a hiking grinder, i.e. as a portable grinding device. Giuseppe Collini overcame the Alps on foot to take this valuable tools home.

The handover of the grinder box took place as part of the long night of the museums. Anton Collini led the guests through a vivid demonstration of the device and explained his way of working. Then the official handover took place to the City Councilor Cenk Dogan, who accepted the device as a loan for the municipal museum.

The event was framed by the Bludenz Singing round, which praised the special features and roots of the Collini family with traditional Trentiners. This musical homage is an important recognition of the cultural connection between the regions.

Chairman Josef Concin from the Bludenz Singing round emphasized the importance of such actions for the preservation of the cultural heritage. The event took place in the historic upper city gate, a suitable framework for this special event.
