Grief in Carinthia: Superintendent calls for unity after a nurse attack
Villach, Österreich - A tragic stabbar attack shook the city center of Villach, in which a 14-year-old was killed. Evangelical superintendent Manfred Sauer commented on the incidents and emphasized the urgently needed solidarity in these difficult times. In his message, which was spread by the Evangelical Press Service, Sauer referred to the unimaginable feelings of grief and anger that this act of violence triggered. "We have to state that love and cooperation are stronger than any hatred," he explained, expressing his sympathy for the family affected, who now has to deal with the incomprehensible loss and prayed in the services for the mourners and the injuries.
Sauer, who has been a superintendent of the Evangelical Church of Carinthia-East Tyrol since 2002, pointed out that the crime could possibly heat emotional reactions and aggression against foreigners and migrants. He appealed for caution in flat -rate convictions, since even a Syrian had fled to prevent worse things than he put on the perpetrator. The superintendent looked at the suspected terrorist motivation or psychological exceptional situation with skepticism and called for a differentiated view in this emotionally charged situation. Such attacks make already inhibited emotions visible and present the community with a major challenge. As evang-kaernten.at is Sauer for an open and welcome church, which is accompanied by the weak and welcoming and whose message of the gospel remains experienced.
