Title triumph for Schmid and Prenner: Third title in a row at Padel!

On Sunday, April 30, 2025, the sixth Austrian padel championships took place in Süßenbrunn. In an exciting tournament, the men Rainhard Boisits and Moritz Eiersebner secured the title. The women Anna Schmid and Barbara Prenner, on the other hand, celebrated their third title in a row and successfully defended their title.

In the men's final, boisits and eggsers first had to hand in a sentence against the final opponents Christoph Krenn and David Alten before they were able to win 6: 2, 6: 2. It is noteworthy that both final teams of the men had not given a sentence up to this decisive game, which underlines the high quality of the participants.

The women's finals, on the other hand, was a clear matter: Schmid and Prenner dominantly prevailed 6: 0, 6: 2 against Christine Seehofer-Krenn and Nina Geretschläger. These services impressively show the dominance of the two players in the Austrian Padel.

The Austrian Padel Union (APU), the umbrella organization for Padel in Austria, plays a crucial role in promoting and spreading sport. Since its foundation in Vienna in June 2010, the Apu has not only expanded membership in the state associations, but also improved the infrastructure for training young players. There are currently almost 300 paddle places at 105 locations in Austria, compared to only around 20 paddle places in 2020.

With a variety of activities, including the Nextgen & Veterans Padel Bundesliga, the APU focuses on promoting young talents and experienced players at the same time. This also includes the Austrian ranking lists for women, men as well as the categories Juniors U14 and U18.
