Serious traffic accident in VOM: Moped driver injured!

on Tuesday evening, March 18, 2025, there was a dramatic traffic accident in vomp, Tyrol around 9:22 p.m. An 18-year-old driver from Austria and a 16-year-old moped driver from Afghanistan were involved in a collision after the moped driver disregarded a stop sign. This led to a collision in the right angle on the Vomper Landesstraße (L222), with the moped driver and his 14-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries during the fall. Both had to be brought to the Schwaz district hospital, while the driver went on to investigate, despite minor injuries.

The carelessness of the moped driver revealed itself tragically, because the two injuries had to be medically supplied as quickly as possible. Reports by 5min.at state that the passenger of the car was luckily unscited. The accident not only led to injuries, but also to considerable property damage to both vehicles involved. Such incidents repeatedly raise the question of how strongly road users respect and adhere to the applicable traffic rules, especially with regard to stop signs that are crucial for safety in road traffic.
