Peasant & music autumn in Mayrhofen: Tradition meets pleasure and music
The third Zillertal farmers' autumn took place between September 21 and October 6, 2024 in the Performance Vacation Region Mayrhofen-Hippach. This event attracted numerous visitors from all over the region and offered a versatile mix of tradition, cuisine and music, which delighted both locals and guests.
The kick-off of this cultural event was the three-valley meeting, which took place under the motto "Separate mountains, connect jöcher". The close friendship between the Zillertal, the Ahrntal and the Tauferer valley was celebrated. The highlights were a colorful customs parade, live music and an extensive farmers' market that spoiled visitors with regional delicacies and handmade products.
The highlight: customs parade
On October 5, the last day of the festival, the impressive customs parade took place. Despite the slightly unfavorable weather with cool temperatures and clouds, many spectators made their way to Mayrhofen to experience this spectacle. At 10.30 a.m., the festively decorated cars started to move, accompanied by the Federal Music Chapel in Ginzling. The traditional costume and dance groups provided a lively atmosphere in the heart of the city with their performances.
The domestic hosts also contributed to the conviviality by setting up additional serving points and offering live music, which led to an inviting framework for visitors. The farmers' and craft market on Josef-Riedel-Platz was another attraction that came up with a variety of regional products. Zillertal home cooking, schnated specialties and a number of handmade works of art such as knitting products, wood products and jewelry were offered.
The Tourismus Association Mayrhofen-Hippach expressed its thanks to all participating companies, farmers and local associations who supported this event and thus contributed to its success. A special thank you also went to the participants of the customs parade and the music groups, who contributed to the festive mood through their musical performances.
The Zillertal farmers' autumn has established itself as an important cultural event that shines far beyond the region and is actively receiving traditional customs. Further exciting events, such as the final tournament at the golf course Udern or a dinner with eight hoods in alpine, rounded off the program and also promise a varied offer for all visitors for the coming season.
