Vils celebrates the restart of the book start project for little explorers
The city library Vils launched its “BuchStart” project again last Friday after a four-year interruption. At this event, all children of the born in 2021 and 2022 were invited to explore the magical world of the books together with their accompanying persons and to get to know the local library. The event was very interested and was enthusiastically accepted by the little visitors and their families.
The "BuchStart" project was launched in various libraries in Austria about 15 years ago. It was developed to enable the little ones first access to the fantastic world of stories. Evi Keller, the management of the library, presented a wide range of offers that appeals to the young readers. In addition to traditional picture books, age-appropriate games, learning and reading books as well as the popular tonie figures can be loaned, which enable children to learn playful.

In addition, the regular event format "Friday magic" is very popular. It takes place every last Friday of the month and invites the children to experience a picture book history that is supplemented with corresponding craft actions and games. Such interactive formats promote creativity and make the children a lot of fun.
After the young guests were warmly welcomed, there was the opportunity for a cozy get -together where cakes, nibbles and coffee were served. The mayor Carmen Strigl-Petz and the new parish provisor Joemon Varghese were also present to personally welcome the little Vilser and take part in the joyful encounters.

A highlight of the afternoon was the handover of age -appropriate non -fiction books to every child. The topics ranged from fire brigade to tractors to farms and animals, so that there was something for every interest. In addition, the children received another booklet with a personal dedication from the mayor. These little gifts served as a nice memory of a happy afternoon full of encounters and cultural exchange.
