Christmas sounds from Assling: A CD project for a good cause
The Asslinger Advent market is just around the corner, and this year there is something special to celebrate: the publication of the CD "Christmas in Assling". The organizer Astrid Duregger, who is also a chairwoman of the Assling Music band, describes the project as a joint project in which different music styles and performances come together. The main goal of the CD is to enrich the Christmas season for all listeners and to pay particular attention to those who may celebrate or are unable to sing or make music themselves.
The project saw the light of day at the beginning of the year. Duregger managed to win 14 different groups from the community for recording in the ProBelokal of the music band. Here, brass ensembles, woodwinds, folk musicians on string instruments and even mixed choirs perform their favorite Advent and Christmas carols. Each group contributed two to three pieces for the CD, which resulted in a colorful mix of sounds.
The CD presentation and the Advent market
But that's not all! In addition to the impressive musical diversity, there are also some special highlights on the CD. This includes the Christmas Gospel, which is read by Pastor Christian Breunig, as well as the traditional song "Stille Nacht", which is presented by the United Chören Assling and the duo string. It becomes particularly moving when the song is accompanied acoustically by the bells of the local parish church.
The official presentation of the CD takes place on the Advent weekend, more precisely on Saturday, November 30th at 3 p.m., on the village square and in the Assling club house. The opening of the market is initiated by the blessing of the Advent wreath. The Advent market itself continues on Sunday, December 1st, from 8:30 a.m. with a Holy Mass in the parish church. At the various market stalls, visitors can expect domestic products, food and drinks.
During the market, the individual music groups will also appear at different locations and create a festive atmosphere. A particularly important aspect of this project is that the entire proceeds from the sale of the CD benefit from the Assling community's aid fund, which supports people in need. This gives the festive occasion an additional, valuable meaning.
