On June 1, 2025, there was considerable traffic jam chaos in Austrian travel, which affected the highways in Salzburg, Tyrol and Upper Austria. The return travel after an extended weekend ensured long waiting times and standstill on several main roads. OE24 that was no longer possible on many streets.
Especially on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in Salzburg, at 1:00 p.m. there was a traffic jam of three hours in front of Golling throwing north. To the south, travelers even had to count on two hours more, which is considered unusual on a Sunday. Also alternative routes such as Salzachtalstrasse (B159) and Katschberg Straße (B99) were not spared the delays.

In Tyrol, drivers were waiting on the Fernpasstrieb (B179) between Reutte and Füssen, where 16 kilometers of traffic jam were currently recorded. Seven kilometers of traffic jams were also reported on Seefelder Straße (B177) between Seefeld and Scharnitz as well as on Walchsee Straße (B172) between Kranzach and Niederndorf towards Kufstein.
In Upper Austria there was a delay of one hour on the Pyhrn Autobahn (A9) north between Gleinkerau and Inzersdorf. In addition, travelers at the border crossings Kufstein (departure) as well as the playing field and Nickelsdorf (entry) had to expect waiting times of up to 30 minutes.
