New board in TVB Alpbachtal: Kostner is fighting for power

Since 2019, the management of the tourism association (TVB) Alpbachtal & Tyrolean Seenland has changed enormously. At that time the old board was voted out under the direction of Frank Kostner, and Gebhard Klingler started as the new chairman. But the Situation escalated internally, which ultimately led to a vial of Klingler and his deputies. Now there are new elections and the cards on TVB are re -mixed.

The merger of the tourism associations, which under the direction of Governor Dr. Herwig van Staa (ÖVP) was initiated, the municipalities of Münster, Kramsach, Brandenberg, Brixlegg, Breitenbach, Kundl, Reith in the Alpbachtal and Alpbach. This "forced marriage", as many they call, was characterized by disputes and different opinions right from the start. The sale of the Matzen-Park by the TVB Reith i.A. before the merger caused displeasure. The main problem is that the participating communities pursue very different interests-from highly touristic to commercial-industrial everything is represented.

The upcoming new elections

The new election preparations are already underway. There are two large camps again: on the one hand the hotelier Frank Kostner and on the other the group, who tries to withdraw the majority on the board and thus control of the TVB budget of more than five million euros per year. The last elections took place under tense conditions, the result was scarce and continued to cause excitement within the TVb.

The votes for the new elections are divided into three different vocal circles, the amount of the taxes play a central role. Voice circuit 1 comprises the companies with the highest taxes, while the vocal circuit 2 and 3 represent the companies with fewer or the lowest taxes. This strict division leads to a criticism: The voices from larger companies are weighted disproportionately, which means that a voice from the first vocal circle is worth more than many votes in the third.

For the upcoming elections, several election proposals are available in every constituency. The first election proposal in the vocal group 1 includes:

• Klaus Ebner (Veolia Industries Austria - Kundl)
• Johann Heim (Hotel Alphof - Alpbach)
• Alois Margreiter (Margreiter Gastronomie - Alpbach)

In the second voice circle, Andreas Jost (Sijo Elektro installations - Alpbach) and Reinhard Hacker (Hacker GmbH - Rattenberg) for election proposal A compete. Election proposal B relies on Hans Jürgen Neuhauser (Hotel Neuwirt - Brandenberg) and other candidates.

for vocal circle 3 includes election proposal A Matthias Sedlak and Daniel Rieser from Reith i.A. as well as several other candidates from the area. Election proposal B has listed candidates from Alpbach and surrounding communities, while election proposal C sends Gebhard Klingler back into the race.

The tension increases and it remains to be seen which developments the new elections will bring. The disputes about the management position and the distribution of funds will certainly also shape the discussions within the TVB in the future. You can find more information here .
