Youth community council Kufstein: elections, projects and new ideas for 2025

In the fortress city of Kufstein, the youth council has started a new, exciting term. With a number of initiatives and events, the old youth council created a lively platform for the young people in the city. This is particularly clear through a panel discussion that took place for the National Council election, in which 350 students discussed important topics such as "affordable living", "climate protection" and the "joint school up to 12 years". In addition, there was also a self -defense course for girls between the ages of ten and twelve, as well as an indoor volleyball tournament, in which 60 young people were able to compete, supported by the sports union.

On November 8th the time had come: The young people of the city elected their new youth council. Almost 50 young people between the ages of twelve to 19 took part in the election and chose their representatives for the coming years among eleven candidates. Numerous well-known faces returned, including Efsun Yetüt, Anna Kickenweitz, Maja Gasser-Kogler and Aslihan Koyuncu. Alisa Zlatic, Severin Kickenweitz and Luka Sevarlija.

commitment and new ideas

The newly elected members are already full of drive. "The election was a complete success this year. The new chair team has various perspectives, and I am looking forward to the versatile discussions that await us," said Anna Kickenweitz, who is once again part of the committee. In a workshop after the election, the new members developed ideas for future activities, especially in the areas of sports and events. Particular attention was paid to the interest in concerts and improve public transport in order to make events more attractive to the young population.

Luka Sevarlija, the newly elected representative, expressed: "It is important to me to offer something for the younger ones. I am really looking forward to the challenge that awaits us now." The youth officer Susanne Thaler also emphasized how gratifying it is to continue old topics and at the same time create new initiatives: "The young people have presented themselves very well and I am looking forward to the new legislative period."

The newly elected representatives of the Kufstein youth now have time until the end of the year to get to know each other better and put the first ideas into practice. From 2025, Sandra Schmalzl, who works as a youth worker in the JUZ, will take over the management of the youth council of Harald Stoiber.
