Ski vacation traffic chaos: A9 and A10 threaten to burst at the weekend!

The winter season picks up speed! In the Austrian ski regions there was already a significant increase in traffic in January. A high volume of traffic on the streets towards the popular ski areas is expected, especially on the upcoming weekend. The Asfinag informs that the A 9 pyhrnautobahn between the pre-alpine cross and Liezen, the A 10 Tauern motorway between Salzburg and Flachau as well as the A 12 Inntal Autobahn between Kufstein and Wiesing/Zillertal will be particularly affected. The main traffic will be expected in the early morning and after the end of the ski lifts.

In addition to the traffic volume in the ski regions, significant winter sports events will also take place in the near future, which will further heat the traffic. From January 24th to 26th, the famous Hahnenkammrennen in Kitzbühel will be held, which should lead to intensive traffic jams in the Kitzbühel area.
