Health care in old age: sporting diversity in Klagenfurt

In the Klagenfurt region, active hobby athletes were recently honored in a solemn ceremony. Organized by the Athletics Club (LAC) Klagenfurt, the successful participants were awarded for their services in various disciplines. The LAC chairman Gunther Spath presented the documents and badges of the Ministry of Sports to the athletes.

The variety of participants who were between 30 and 83 years old this year is particularly remarkable. The ÖSTA (Austrian sports incentive system), an important element of health care since 1920, enabled the athletes to officially prove their fitness. The athletes took challenges in disciplines such as sprint, jump, throw, run, cycling and swimming and managed to overcome the required sporting borders.

challenges and success

The event, which took place in a festive framework, not only distinguished the sporting performance of the participants, but also promoted awareness of health and fitness in all age groups. Spath emphasized the enthusiasm and commitment of the athletes, who, with their efforts, set a sign of sporty spirit and joie de vivre. This commitment is particularly valuable because it shows that sport and physical activity are important in every age.

The participants of the competitions were satisfied with the achievements and the opportunity to measure themselves in a supportive environment. Such an event not only promotes individual fitness, but also the community and the interaction of the athletes. The LAC's honoring these athletes is an indication of the commitment of the association to honor sporting performance and at the same time emphasize health aspects.
