Heavy skiing accident in Kitzbühel: 14-year-old fights for his life!

In the middle of the picturesque mountain landscape of the Tyrolean Alps, two serious ski accidents recently occurred, which caused great concern. On February 19, 2025, a 14-year-old skier in the Kitzbühel ski area lost control of his skis on a red slopes and collided with a padded snowmish at high speed. The young person suffered the most serious internal injuries and had to be brought to the Innsbruck hospital by helicopter. According to the police, the investigation into the causes of the accident lasts, as orf.at reported.

A second dramatic scene also developed in the Berwang ski area on the same day. A 45-year-old Dutch skier was hit by another skier on Wednesday morning at 9:40 a.m. on the red-marked slope No. 4b. As a result of the collision, the man got on the edge of the slopes and pushed against a stone, whereby he remained seriously injured. Here, too, the slope rescue had to intervene quickly, and the injured person was flown to the Innsbruck hospital. The other skier, who was involved in the incident and is said to be between 40 and 50 years old, continued his journey without revealing his identity. The police are now looking for these important witnesses to obtain further information. This was also confirmed by the Allgäuer Zeitung

The investigation by both incidents shows the dangers of skiing in the Alps, where supposedly safe slopes can lead to terrible accidents. The police asks the public to help educate these tragic incidents.
