Innsbruck's high -rise becomes a climate -friendly education stamp!

Innsbruck, Österreich - Innsbruck is currently experiencing a profound renovation of the striking high -rise at Innrain 98, which has existed since the 1970s. Originally built as a residential and commercial building, the building is now being converted for the University of Health for Health Professions and the AZW (training center for health professions). The comprehensive renovation process was recently presented in a press conference in which the sustainable energy concept was also highlighted. According to tirol.orf.at , the renovation should lead to the fact that the CO2 emissions in operation are reduced by up to 95 percent. This is done by innovative measures such as heating conversion, the installation of gentle cooling and the use of renewable energies such as groundwater heat pumps and photovoltaics.

Sustainable transformation for educational institutions

The project is realized with an investment of 18 million euros and is expected to be completed by the winter of 2025/2026. The renovation work runs during the ongoing operation of the educational institutions, which is a significant challenge for everyone involved. AZW director Walter Draxl emphasized that the construction period was well planned and the construction site activities for students, teachers and employees are designed as smoothly as possible. During this time, around 2,900 trainees and students remain active at the location, which is a continuous challenge. This was emphasized by azw.ac.at

In addition to the measures for energy exposure, the concept also includes the closure of balconies in order to create further usable areas for the educational institutions. The managing director of Tigewosi, Franz Mariacher, underlined the close cooperation with the Tyrol Clinics and the importance of synergies for the success of the project. The successful implementations of renovations according to environmentally friendly standards have also been addressed, which indicates the high demands of sustainability and environmental protection.
