Active: Inspire Breitenbach's running club and power golds

Tyrolean clubs play a central role in promoting movement and fitness, especially through the commitment of volunteers. Whether in summer or winter, numerous sports initiatives bring together people of different age groups to actively work. A remarkable example is the running club in Breitenbach, which has been part of the village culture for over three decades.

with around 400 members, including many children and adolescents, the Breitenbach running meeting is anything but shy when it comes to the number of active runners. Instead of having young talent, the association observes constant growth of its members. According to chairman Andreas Auer, the association relies on holistic support for members through active sport, which extends from childhood to adult life. It is important that the focus is on fun - performance is promoted, but not made a duty. Training takes place up to three times a week and, in addition to fitness, also brings success in national competitions, such as the Austrian Championships.

Fitness for all age groups

senior sport is another highlight in Tyrol. The group "Power-Oldies" from Fieberbrunn impressively shows that sport remains important even in old age. Once a week, 15 senior athletes meet to keep moving during training together. This not only promotes physical fitness, but also contributes to a healthy lifestyle in old age. Ex-ski driver Hannah Köck leads the group and emphasizes the meaning that regular movement has in everyday life.

In the state capital Innsbruck, community sense is also very important. The Base 5 fitness studio has established itself as an urban point of contact for early risers. Here a motivated group of sports enthusiasts meet to train together in the fresh morning air, no matter how cold it is. With now 700 members and a team of 40 employees, the studio is an important support for the fitness landscape in Innsbruck. In addition to training, the five pillars of the studio also include aspects such as nutrition, mindset and athletic diversity.

Austria in motion

A special event is on October 26: The final of the ORF campaign "We move Austria" is celebrated. The aim of the campaign is to strengthen the sense of community in Austria. Whether hiking, running, cycling, dancing or swimming - every movement counts and can be recorded via the Fit.Orf.at platform in order to achieve an overall result for the country.

With these initiatives and a variety of programs, the local clubs and fitness studios make a decisive contribution to an active lifestyle in Tyrol. The focus is on the sense of community and the joy of movement, which will continue to motivate many people in the future.
