Brandstetter in court: false statement and controversy allegations!

Innsbruck, Österreich - Former Minister of Justice Wolfgang Brandstetter is on trial for intentional false statements. The Innsbruck public prosecutor has brought charges after investigations have been made that Brandstetter had his mobile phone with him on February 25, 2021, even though he denied this during the procedure. According to the public prosecutor, Brandstetter explained his falsehoods with health problems, which led to gaps in memory. An appointment for the main hearing at the Vienna Regional Court has not yet been determined, as Vol.at reported.

Interestingly, some allegations have already been posted against the former minister. In particular, the accusations for violation of official secrecy and abuse of office were dismissed. Among the allegations also found that Brandstetter is said to have been inciting his late colleague Christian Pilnacek to thwart a house search with the entrepreneur Michael Tojner. These developments underline the complex situation in which Brandstetter is located, and highlights a highlight of numerous controversy that have accompanied his term.
