102 and 105 years: Innsbruck celebrates two lively jubilees!

In Innsbruck, a remarkable occasion was celebrated: Rosa Zangerle celebrated her 102nd and Josefine Psula her 105th birthday. The solemn occasions took place in the respective dormitories of the two jubilees, where Mayor Johannes Anzengruber personally made the honor and congratulated the two women.

Rosa Zangerle, who moved to the St. Vinzenz residential and nursing home of the Merciful Sisters in August 2023, looks back on many decades in Zollerstrasse in the Wilten district. She spent almost 80 years in this district and was looked after at home until old age. When asked about her most beautiful memory from over a century, she humbly replied that there was not a single memory, but many wonderful moments that would have enriched her life.

common moments of happiness

The celebration was peppered with warm conversations and a lot of laughter. Anzengruber wished Ms. Zangerle's best health and lifted the glass with her, while she noticed with humor: "I save you a speech - but also myself." This pointed remark ensured general cheerfulness and made the day particularly unforgettable.

Josefine "Peppi" Psula, another remarkable lady in Innsbruck, celebrated her 105th birthday with her family in the Saggen dorm. Mayor Anzengruber praised her optimism and liveliness, which reminded that joy and confidence are independent of the number of years that one counts. Before moving to the dormitory, she lived in Pradler sagging until the age of 97.

Josefine Psula, who was born in 1919 in the Mölltal, has an impressive past. She completed an apprenticeship in gastronomy and met her future husband during the Second World War in Innsbruck. Together they operated the Stöcklenalm in the Stubai Valley. The afternoon was even more solemn by the sneaking of a birthday cake, the Anzengruber and Psula cut together. Of course, the community singing of the "Innsbruck song" was also part of, which caused an extraordinary mood.

In addition to these exciting celebrations, the city of Innsbruck receives further positive news from the dormitories. Ludwig Ascher also celebrated his birthday in the Reichenau dorm and brought joy to the residents. Such events contribute to strengthening the joie de vivre and cohesion in the community.

The birthday parties of Rosa Zangerle and Josefine Psula are not only opportunities to celebrate birthdays, but also a celebration of life itself, which inspires us all to appreciate the little things and to see every day as a gift. The positive energy that comes from the two ladies is a ray of hope in society that shows that age can be associated with joie de vivre, charm and humor.
