Ernst Swoboda: 45 years in the service of Lebenshilfe Tyrol - a life full of stories!
Ernst Swoboda, a sprightly 66-year-old who has been working at Lebenshilfe Tirol for an incredible 45 years, recently attracted attention. According to meinzirk.at , he is not only responsible for postal services, but also plays a central role in the support of people with disabilities. Swoboda works at the Langgasse location in Imst and brings the mail to Innsbruck weekly. He collects stories and distributes a smile. Despite health restrictions and operations, he remains active, because "when I'm alone at home, I may start spinning," he says with a wink.
Lebenshilfe - change and influence
The Lebenshilfe Tirol was founded more than 60 years ago and fights for the rights and self -determination of people with disabilities. As kitzanzeiger.at , the organization has changed over the years. Initially designed as a traditional home of the disabled, the facilities today offer self -determined living opportunities in small units. Around 300 people are looked after, and around 120 employees support clients in their daily lifestyle.
Under the motto "Neverstoppinnovating", Lebenshilfe not only works on integration into society, but also promotes job opportunities in shops such as the "natural talent" shops that offer people with disabilities a job. Lebenshilfe President Peter Heidler emphasizes the importance of equality and commitment that has existed since it was founded. Despite all progress, the challenge of reducing prejudices and improving the quality of life for people with disabilities remains. Markus Themel, who heads the Lebenshilfe facilities in the Kitzbühel district, is certain that the change must continue to progress.
