Dispute for chair: Greens are calling for Rosary's resignation in the national fund!

In a controversial political argument, Walter Roskranz remains chairman of the National Fund for the victims of National Socialism. This was confirmed in a budget committee today, where a law proposal by the Greens was surprisingly blocked by the ÖVP, SPÖ and FPÖ to replace rosary. Lukas Hammer, right -wing extremism -specific spokesman for the Greens, was outraged by the decision and emphasized that the current situation around rosary ’office manager only reinforces the impression that this was intolerable in his role. Especially in the commemoration year 2025 - the 80th anniversary of the liberation from National Socialism - this is unacceptable, such as ots.at reported.

Investigations and legal consequences

The Greens are currently taking up the investigation against the Rosenkranz office manager, Rene Schimanek. Schimanek is suspected of being connected to Nazi memorabilia and ammunition in a forest house used by his family in Langenlois. The house includes both Nazi materials and ammunition, which the Greens use as another reason to request a change in the law. In their demand that the chair of the National Fund should no longer be automatically bound to the National Council President, they aim to solve rosary from its current position in order to vote for a new chairman from the Presidium, as it noted

The responsible persons of the ÖVP meanwhile demanded that rosary to draw the necessary consequences from the situation by emphasizing that he did not comply with his promise to be president for all parties. However, Rosenkranz defends himself with the reference to the presumption of innocence for his employee, who, according to his statement, has no knowledge of the allegations raised against him. In addition, the Greens asked for a parliamentary request to clarify which measures rosary took to meet the situation. These open questions could have far -reaching effects on the political landscape in Austria.
