Stream Festival 2025: 20,000 enthusiastic visitors celebrate sustainability!
Pfarrplatz, 4020 Linz, Österreich - The Stream Festival 2025, which took place on May 30 and 31, attracted over 20,000 visitors and delighted with a varied program. OE24 reports that the event at eight different venues in Linz, including the parish square and the Kunstuni, took place. With 38 acts that presented pop, club and electronic music, there was something for every taste. In particular, the focus was on artists such as Edwin Rosen, Buntspecht and the Linz DJ duo Caorli.
Admission to the festival was free, which contributed to a high number of visitors. In addition to musical highlights, the festival also included talks, workshops and exhibitions with a focus on awareness, sustainability and artificial intelligence. Cultural councilor Doris Lang-Mayerhofer praised the commitment of the organizers, Linz Kultur and their numerous partners, for the organization of the event. The next festival in club format is planned for April 17 and 18, 2026.
sustainability in focus
The Stream Festival 2025 was also characterized by sustainability. In recent years, many festival organizers have recognized that music events are associated with environmental pollution, especially through CO2 emissions when traveling and waste production. Kulturnews indicates that in 2025 numerous initiatives are expected to promote climate-friendly alternatives and help to reduce garbage and use energy efficiently.
Visitors are increasingly involved in environmentally conscious by using sustainable approaches and foregoing disposable products. Festivals are increasingly focusing on renewable energies, biodegradable materials and innovative mobility concepts. For example, cooperations with companies are offered that enable discounted tickets for train travelers and promoted shuttle buses and carpools via social networks.
A central component of the organizers' sustainability strategies is waste prevention through recycling. Many festivals rely on reusable cup and deposit systems, biodegradable packaging and edible dishes. Concept ideas such as "Food Sharing" and the remaining recycling are also part of the endeavor to reduce food waste.
Overall, the Stream Festival 2025 shows how music and environmentally conscious action can benefit from each other. The integration of sustainability into cultural events could help to raise awareness of environmentally friendly practices and to promote sustainable commitment in society.
